FORMALDEHYDE, THE LATEST ENTRY IN TO THE LIST OF INDOOR HAZARDS

Formaldehyde, an important chemical, is use widely by industries to manufacture building materials and numerous house hold products.it is also a by product of combustion and certain other natural processes as a result of which ,it may present in substantial concentration both indoors and outdoors. At room temperatures ,formaldehyde is a colorless gas with a pungent ,irritating odour .it is highly reactive ,readily undergoes polymerization ,is highly flamable ,and it decomposes at temperature below 150 degree centigrade.Formaldehyde is emmitted in to indoor air by the adhesive portion that binds pressed wood products. The emission rate of formaldehyde is strongly influenced by the nature of the material . The release of formaldehyde is highest from new wood products and these emission decrease overtime , to very low rates.

GENES THATS SLOW DOWN AGENING PROCESS FOUND!!!!

  • British scientists have taken a major step forward towards finding the key to elixir of youth by discovering key genes that slow the ageing process. The team at university college London has pinpointed the genetic mutations , a key finding it claims could lead to fresh hope for people suffering from illnesses, ranging from heart diseases to ALZHEIMER'S. In their study , the scientists have found that the mutations in genes that encode the protein components of the insulin and insulin like growth factor 1 signaling pathways extend the life span of animals like worms ,flies and mice.Lead researcher Professor Linda Partridge said that tackling the very causes of ageing -rather than treating the symptoms "piece meal"-offers the best prospects for dealing with the diseases.

wat is global warming

What is Global Warming?

The Earth as an ecosystem is changing, attributable in great part to the effects of globalization and man. More carbon dioxide is now in the atmosphere than has been in the past 650,000 years. This carbon stays in the atmosphere, acts like a warm blanket, and holds in the heat — hence the name ‘global warming.’

The reason we exist on this planet is because the earth naturally traps just enough heat in the atmosphere to keep the temperature within a very narrow range - this creates the conditions that give us breathable air, clean water, and the weather we depend on to survive. Human beings have begun to tip that balance. We've overloaded the atmosphere with heat-trapping gasses from our cars and factories and power plants. If we don't start fixing the problem now, we’re in for devastating changes to our environment. We will experience extreme temperatures, rises in sea levels, and storms of unimaginable destructive fury. Recently, alarming events that are consistent with scientific predictions about the effects of climate change have become more and more commonplace.
